Emeralds

The sapphire is most known for it’s
superb and profound bleu color. Although, this corindon
exists in a multitude of colors, except for the red. In that case it
would be ruby. This rare gem is intensively sought after for its high
demand in jewelry. The nicest specimens come from Kashmir, India but
they are also found in Ceylan, Pakistan, Thailand, Australia, and Africa.
Hardness is 9 out of 10. Sapphires except for red can come in many colors,
yellow, green, orangy-pink, pink, white, orange, violet, black, and
of course light bleu to dark (night) bleu.

The ruby like
the sapphire, is a member of the corindons family. The most beautiful
specimens come from the mines of Mogok in Burma. The most sought after
color is
blood red. This gem is very rare and very much sought after by jewelers
to put in value a broche, a ring, a necklace, a bracelet, or for earrings.
It’s clarity varies from VVS (very rare, and more expensive if
over 4 carats than a white diamond) to opaque. Color from deep pink,
passing thru vivid red, purple, until a dull bronish-red. Hardness is
